Grischa Lichtenberger (DE)

Grischa Lichtenberger was born in Bielefeld 1983. In 2009 he released his debut EP ~treibgut ununbium on german label Raster-Noton. ~treibgut – a system of references to the river Rhein – operated as a motto for varied expressions: installations, videos, music, painting and drawings. Beginning in 2006, while moving to Düsseldorf, Lichtenberger decided to rethink the artistic process from scratch – it’s ethical legitimization and it’s epistemological backgrounds – all in regard to the concreteness of the biographical situation in its landscape and history. Since 2008 Grischa Lichtenberger lives in Berlin. With the new „supertitle“ andyrchie iv he tries to proceed the idea or revaluating the reference to landscape as „the place we live in“.

Lichtenberger’s focus is not only the musical expression, but the process of creating art in general. Always regarding the complexity and difficulties of communication and material referenciality, he seeks to overcome the dominance of functional interpretations, while maintaining an open access to technology and production. The archive of samples and fragments of overcome and discarded technological artefacts and everyday livestock is enabled by an ethical figure, wherein art is to address and regard the other, without economizing or confining them.

Monoblock B (ZH) AV-Project with Pixelpunx (AG)

Monoblock B creates a powerful one-man live-electronica performance, merging punkwave elements from the eighties with modern technologies. His contact with the crowd is like sex – electro-bleeps are skilfully mixed with his raw and di- rect vocoder voice. All this and his charismatic showmanship is known to tear up every dance floor time and time again in hundreds of shows in clubs and at festivals all over the world.

Born 1973 in Singapore and raised in Basel, Silvio Tommasini alias Monoblock B becomes a music activist (Goth, Punk and EBM) and passionate Musicians in his teens. It is no coinci- dence that his first band, in which he sang and played guitar, is called “l’amour sauvage”. At the end of the Nineties he moves to Zurich and co-founds Spezialmaterial. With his dark, wild and spectacular shows he is an underground star in no time at all and before long, he plays the big clubs of the town and specialists call him a “phenomenon” on national television. Off stage he creates music for theatre productions, performances and art installations. To date, he has released six solo records and was featured on 19 compilations.

When asked, Silvio Tomasini, will tell you, that he has spent much time in an air castle with ocean view and a garden of current, but is currently stuck in a stuffy flat near the busiest transit road of the whole of Europe. And that he’s got a di- ploma in electrotherapeutic medicine. To broaden his horizon he takes frequent research trips through time and space by means of electronic aids, including a picnic with Elvis..

La Bombe (CH)

DJ La Bombe is on a mission: he brings music with a certain mood and depth to those who are here to listen. He developed his style and musical language as a resident at Zurich’s legendary concert series “Somewhere between an experimental Hip Hop Night” alongside forward thinking heavyweight indie-acts like Themselves, Sole, 2Mex, Awol One, Bleubird or Oddateee and as an opener for acts like Dälek (Palace, St. Gallen) or Jel (Zukunft, Zürich): it’s somewhere between – as you’d guess. Dub influenced Hip Hop, Bass injected Dubstep, industrial sounding Electronica coming straight from the darkest woofers of the world.

DJ La Bombe builds a dense atmosphere, combining like-minded tracks from various genres in his sets, adding flares, drones and cuts here and there. In his mixtapes “Punk ain’t dead, it just changed” and “Weapons of Bassdestruction”, he takes his listeners on a breathlessly crackling journey to the core of a musical mindset: so-called independent Hip Hop here, so-called Dubstep there – with a single, yet significant difference in depth.

So far, there’s has only been one chance to get a hold of La Bombe as a producer: he contributet a remix to Göldin & Bit-Tuner’s Remix Album “Fantasy is Dubbed” in 2009. La Bombe’s “Key to the Universe (La Clé)”-Remix is a masterpiece of electronic, symphonic music – and it’s the soundtrack of the apocalypse: splintered drums, sub bass and wide open pads unhinge the universe. A first release that lets connoisseurs crave for more.

Soult

Soult has been active as DJ, producer and master of chaos for years as Soult, Jinxx, Goh and Dubbling Crack Monster. Together with Nik!, he forms the DJ-tag-team The Dean Soniks.

Soult is unpredictable – breaking the limits of styles and rolling over the dancefloors of the world with shinig dance tripping hazards. He stood behind the turntables in Bombay, Latvia, Poland, France, Austria, Germany and many basements in Switzerland. Back in the 90ies, he organised excessive nights in clubs and forests as one of the founders of the legendary Jungle Crew Tsunami. As Soult, he is releasing his own music on his mysterious Tape Label Inner Noise and on Hula Honeys. Since January 2010, he runs the monthly mix series Soultmonth, on wich he digs through his record collection and deals with styles or moods of music, one at a time. Soult runs a small Label called Inner Noise wich released 3 cassettes in 2009. Since 2013 all the music is also available digital and there will be a new one soon.

Pixelpunx VJ Kollektiv (CH)

Silja Dietiker, Pixelpunx Visual Live-Set zu Monoblock B

Pascal Arnold, Piselpunx / Still&Dunkel Visual Live-Set zu La Bombe

Producing live videos is the contention with an unrepeteable moment. It’s a spontaneous interpretation and reflection of an atmoshpere. The work of Pixelpunx transforms the mood of the surrounding area into a digital wallpaper and expands the room. It’s the search of a visual translation. They revert to their huge archive, resulted from old computer games, now grown into a many-sided library of short loops from many kinds of moving images. Studied and worked on different fields (graphic design, industrial design, architecture and new media), the five members of pixelpunx are useing the rough material in unequal ways and create an individual expression.
